But Crystalk told me to buy some nice errors with my "Two-Horned" sales.

Well here's my first try:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...MEWN:IT&rd=1

I looked up the price of gold and this seemed liked a good deal being slabbed and all and a one-of-a-kind minor error. Fits in nicely with my error type set.

I've never bought gold so how did I do?

Well I have to say you did pretty darn well! I, for one, didn't have a clue the mint ever let a gold error get out of the building. Thats really different and I am glad to see you are putting some of that hard earned coin cash back into coins! I think it is something to be proud of and I don't even collect errors!

Thanks Terry. When I found this on ebay it only had like 40 mins. left so I had to do some quick research and "thinking"

It's not much over the price of gold and it's a beautiful design, it has two mint errors, and slabbed so I figured I couldn't go wrong unless my wife found out, but then I have some pretty good reasoning why I bought it.

I did tell my daughter however, she has been bugging me to buy her a gold coin. I really wanted to find her a cheap circulated old US gold coin for her to "hold" onto. Any suggestions?

Yeah when I get some money in my Paypal account it always seems to dissappear into some cool error coins. I need to stop watching ebay....nawwww.

Chris

That is a neat error! Nice buy. I also didn't think that gold errors made it out of the Mint.

Thanks all. I must be a coin collector, I've gone back to the auction a bunch of times to look at my purchase. I really, really like the design. Anyone have one of these (non error) Gold Eagles? The artistic compositon of the design is awesome. The proof looks cool but expensive.

I have seen other minor errors on other Gold and Silver Eagles, they are around. I prefer major errors, but you won't find one on a gold eagle and if you did, no way could I afford it.
