I think I may have got suckered into buying a coin that was repackaged. Can anyone tell me if RCM packaged this coin or was it a dealer?

Are you sure it's silver?
I had a similar one, but the dollar was nickel.

IMO, RCM loses opportunity to issue Silver Dollars with provincial Coat of Arms.

I did find out it was packaged by a company called 99 company. The man who started ended up losing his shirt due to mental illness

The coin is a silver dollar, its composition is 50% silver and 50% copper. The RCM refers to the finish on the coin as "Specimen" as they did not strike proof versions of their commemorative silver dollars until 1981.

The coins came packaged in hinged cases when originally sold by the RCM.

Your piece may not be in original packaging, but it is a nice philatelic-numismatic cover (PNC) for the issue.

I have 4 off the silver BC dollars that I ordered from the RCM back in 1971 and they are toned very nicely and with the black box with the red felt lining and are neat coin and wished I had ordered more.
