Does anyone know if The Royal Mint (Great Britain) strikes coins for other countries and if so, is there any web site or reference guide that I can refer to?

I believe Isle of Man, Guernsey, Jersey, and Gibraltar may be some of them. I may be wrong, but these would be my quesses. Remember, many small countries need minting elsewhere, and some use multiple mints.

"Egypt is The Royal Mint's second-largest foreign customer, behind Russia, accounting for a substantial chunk of last year's £110m in overseas revenue." http://www.theguardian.com/world/20...int-contract

@DaytR, is that a recent move by the Isle of Man, and do they still use Royal Mint made planchets? I have a 1998 Manx £1 and its edge milling pattern (alternate milled and unmilled sectors) appears identical to that on a 1998 Gibraltar £1. However a 1999 and 2002 Manx £1 shared a different edge template (still with alternate milled and unmilled sectors).

It has been claimed Swazi Emalangeni were [for many years] made from the same planchets as UK £1 coins, and speculated that The Royal Mint was making them. Yet the one I have (1986) is very slightly wider (diameter) and thinner at the edge than every UK £1 I've compared it to, including a UK proof £1 found in circulation (i.e. in spite of the latter being struck twice).

Thats a good question, from what I understand the planchets could be from The Royal Mint but the striking is by the Pobjoy mint , the Pobjoy mint has been striking Isle of Man coins for a while.....to give you an example they struck the first base metal pound coins for them in 1979
