Hello, I just joined this forum because I have a lot of coins that my family inherited and a few are odd.

I have clipped blanks, pie tins, crack die and other odd pennys. How does one asses what they are worth and is there a market for them? Thanks.

Would be beneficial to post pics of coins in question. That way people much smarter than I can assess what you possess.

Here is a link you can research your coins http://www.error-ref.com/ There is a lot of info but it might help sort out keepers from junk. Then again you could post them here. We enjoy helping newcomers learn about their coins.
Please make a new post for each type of "oddity". If you have more than one coin of certain type just post the best example. Try to include close up shots as well a photo of the full coin front and back.

Posting pics is the best way to find out what you have,

You can also lurk around on ebay and check SOLD prices on items similar to yours.

But we really like pics.

Hi there and to CCF

Looks like all good clips except you may want
to look closer at the straight clips. Would need better
and closer pics. of these as well as the outside rim edges
and the reverses. Also pic. of the 22 reverse. Looks like a keeper either way. Would need that rev. pic. to determine which die pair was used on it. Next 2 coins are die chips
and the last 50 just post mint damage most likely.
Rest in Peace

This is a tough one on the 22
Almost seems like a whole new die pair.
Was leaning towards die pair #1 but no rev. die crack can be seen, at least in the pic. You would assume a weak reverse
right off the bat but the rev. wear matches up pretty well
with the obv. wear. Might want to have one of the pro's take
a look at it in hand first. Then decide if worth a slab or not after that. I had one very similar and it was a #3
Anyway, a 200 to 300 dollar coin. Ruled out #4 anyway. Could be a new #5 :)
I used to be able to nail these down pretty quick but ?
