I found my third silver coin in circulation in last 5 years. I was paying a toll in the United States and was surprised to see a whitish coin turn up in my change. Of course, I quickly pulled over to verify my suspicion. It turned out to be a 1965 Canadian quarter. It seems to have been in circulation for a while judging by the wear. 1965 seems to be a good year for me. My last two silver finds in circulation were both 1965 coins. A 1965 dime from change at a post office in 2010 and another 1965 quarter in change from a Chinese restaurant in 2009.

Nice find! I just purchased a random lot of Canadian change off ebay and one of them turned out to be a 1966 dime. Always nice to pick up 80% silver at face value!

I still find silver dimes in circulation, probably 1-2 per year, not much.
