I have yet to see a mint mark actually touch the date, rim or bust though I'm sure it must happen. Does anyone have any pics that show any of these scenarios? Thanks.

There are a few that are RPMs that almost touch the date:

There were many non variety cents as well that almost touched the date. Some of the RPMs were created to avoid being so close to the date, were moved to a second location. They were added by hand and can fall where the punch landed.
