Hate to beat this to death, but I missed the boat on the 2012 mint set, since the mintage was so low....Will have to give $55-75 for one now...How about some opinions about it holding its value from here.? Also the 2013 might be a good deal at $27 if the sales figures for it are low as well..Heck, the 10 coin quarter set is pricey too.....Should I wait on both...

It doesn't hurt to buy a couple of the 2013 Mint Set at the current issue price. If the sale figures hold its pace and the Mint end the sale soon, the 2013 Mint Set will have mintage similar to 2012, if not lower.

From what I've seen, those mint sets since 2008 doesn't loose much value and some had gained price over issue price. So, you don't have much to loose if buying a few set of 2013.

Something to keep in mind re the 2008 to 2011 silver mint sets. During the great silver melt, perhaps as much as 20 percent of each mintage was destroyed. Especially the 2008. I personally know of one dealer that destroyed 200 to 300 sets of 2008 silver mint sets. When Silver hit $40 an ounce a real fever hit and all sorts of mint and proof sets got destroyed. Each set from 2008 had over $60 worth of silver in it.

They didn't make silver mint sets since 2008, unless I missed something. Only proof sets have a silver option. I still can't figure out why the 2008 mint set is so high. It is true the the recent mint sets have held their value.

The only silver mint sets were the Proof Sets, and they have made them every year since 1992. Putting the word Proof in would have been the way to go, but since the only silver sets were the proof sets, it is a given. So, yeah, I guess you did miss something.
