OK...I'm sure you're tiring of my Liberty nickels, but here's one I just got off of ebay. I'd say it is definitely AU, but was wondering if anyone out there would bump it up to MS 60-62. There is luster and a very nice strike on both obverse and reverse, especially for this date. (Note the full details on the obverse stars.) But I think there's too much detail missing in the high points of Liberty's hair to go MS.

There's a slight die crack on the obverse, through the stars above Liberty's hair, and a really nice one on the reverse (see third picture) that connects all the letters of "States Of" which is the reason I went after this particular coin.

It looks like a high end AU and maybe even a low end MS-60

It's a beauty hunter, don't have to worry with me about showing too many of these, the Liberty nickel is one of the sets I am keeping and continuing to work on. Would love to see more of these, there are so many Morgan requests sometimes it just gets a little old. Love the die crack and wow, look at those stars, that is a very nice strike. I certainly doesn't look circulated but hard to tell when not in person, I like it very much though. I would give it a MS-61 rating, but that is only my opinion and I think it could go a step or two higher.

Enthusiasm affects all of us one time or another. I also liked your 1905 with the die crack on the reverse. You seem to be getting a nice set together. I'm jealous

BTW, look between the stars on the obverse from 12 to 3 o'clock for some more.

Thanks, Ken. I'm trying to get some interesting Liberty nickels together. My set is complete except for decent examples of the 1885 and 1886 (I've got the money set aside, but can't find what I'm looking for.) But I still enjoy this series, so am focusing on EF-AU common dates with die cracks or other features that add some character. That all started with another 1883 NC with a really obvious die crack through the first three numerals of the date. (see below)

This is a tough one for me. Really nice looking coin, but a lot of times these are a bit weakly struck in the hair. I can't tell if there is a hint of wear or not. I think it is either AU-58, or MS-61/62 depending whether or not that is a weak rub on the hair. Either way that is a really nice coin and I think the die cracks are really cool!
