So I found this 1976 LMC that weigh 2.1 grams (Severely underweight). My first thought was environmental damage due to the weakness and the slight discoloration. However, the strike appears to be uniform across the entire coin and the diameter is the same as ever other LMC.

So I'm stumped and would love opinions and here are some pictures.

Dipped into acid. Acid reduces the thinness and diameter. They used to do this in the 1960's in science class to get a soda for one cent (10oz bottles were 10 cents). If they found a 7 cent machine 70z bottles) they got Three Cents back to make more of them.
