If you are referring to the line on the right side of bay #11, that is normal. It is there to give a 3-D look to show columns behind the front ones.

I know what your saying and have looked at many memorial cents and know about those areas, thanks! But there is another line there, the first pillar does not look like this, nor do the others.

Keep in mind the bays are the height of the fields, or other wise the outside part of the die. When polishing happen that area is affected. So any contact with the dies surface is altered. A die scratch will show for a long time because it is inside a framed in area. Sometimes you can see these die scratches above or below the Memorial building.
