Does anyone have any non-proof Susan B Anthony dollars that are in bad condition and wouldn't mind posting high res pics of both side of the coin? By bad condition I mean MS62 down to Poor. I ask because I'm working on a project over in the Modern Grading sub-forum to assemble a photo grading guide of these coins and there's really not a lot of information available on them. Finding beat up, circulated ones is more challenging than finding them in mint state in a weird way. I'd love to see some XF and AU SBA's!

Quote: Finding beat up, circulated ones is more challenging than finding them in mint state in a weird way. Considering no one ever wanted to circulate them that is not surprising Most small dollar coins I get from rolls look UNC and I'm sure most of the ones I spend are not circulated much after that.

I had some really nasty ones a while back, but I spent them. No idea how to grade the 10 rolls of them I have now to know what to do, and doubt my old camera is good enough for taking pics for grade examples as it is 640x480. Aside form the fact my new computer doesn't have a floppy drive to transfer pics with.
Have never seen any really worn. what about the CRH Small Dollar roll hunting thread?

I guess its a rare gem ....this reminded me , I have one that shoots 300 kilopixel images Quote: Aside form the fact my new computer doesn't have a floppy drive to transfer pics with. Does you camera save pictures to a floppy disk ?

Sony Mavica with floppy drive storage. got a box of 50 3.5 inch disks brand new to use with it. bought in um, 2003-ish.
my half dollar in the counterstamp thread I think was either taken with it or a window 98 webcam. so the quality of the picture would be pretty close either way.
now I have a HD webcam but it is fixed on the flatscreen so taking pics of coins would be futile unless I had a coin stand or something.
I still have 3 or 4 110 cameras and a 35mm camera too, but can you even buy film for them anymore?

I just got a few from the bank yesterday, and I'll try my best with some pics, but they might not be the best... Edit: Here they are! This was about the most beaten up one in the lot.

Thanks half and half! Good resolution on those and nice pics. I'm going to cross post this over on the US modern's grading sub-forum and see if we can come up with a grade on this and try and include it in the photo grading guide for SBA's I'm working on.

I have 16 1999 SBA's, as soon as I have some time I can post pictures, but where should I post them?

jscott. Thanks! I guess you could post them here or if you look in the 'US Modern Coin Grading' sub-form and post them there.
If over in the Grading sub-forum I wouldn't post them all in one thread though because they like to do one coin per thread there. I'd also post only one coin of what you think the grade would be; not for example four XF-45's. That's a lot of work though, if you'd like you can dump them here in this thread or email them to me. The only thing is though make sure you got both sides of the coin and nice, large resolution with good lighting.
Thanks!

Thanks. Those look like large and clear enough pics. I don't have time to work with them today. But I'll try and get something going in regards to grading these and potentially getting them added to the photoguide in the next day or two.
