Here's a question for anyone...... What does "Masters Club Member" mean exactly? I have been a so called member for over a year. I stumble across some new coins for "pre- sale" on ebay..... Glass frog etc. I search the internet and from what I read they are available March 25th. I log in several times the last 3 days and see nothing. Today I get the flyer in the mail.Still can't buy them. So what are the advantages to being a member? I really don't understand the Canadian Mint's system or rules. Can anyone explain? If I can't have a fair chance like others what's the advantage in buying from them? Thanks in advance.

Masters club members get free shipping, reminders before items become available for general sales and some other stuff. I'm not a bit buyer at the RCM (spend about $200 there per year) so I'm not your guy for info.

To be a Masters Member you're required to buy $1000 of RCM product per year. Although the Venetian Frog was not available/visible on the mint site to Master members earlier today, it is now. Limit of 2.

Yes I understand the $1000 per year. I've kept that up for over a year. The question is.... How do some members find out about new releases days maybe weeks before other members? I did finally get the email and was able to buy.

That's correct.

Actually, according to strange RCM policy, no one suppose to know about coming coins, but thanks to the POs, that let people to take a look, and thanks to these people and the forum, all, and not only MC aware (lets say at least one week) prior the MC release.

Added:
And regular MC people have ability to order coins online one week prior the general release.

As example you can take current Glass Frog coin, that status of MC gives availability comfortably order the coin from the Mint site now, while could be it will be unavailable week later, at the general release.

So the only advantage to being a club member is free shipping? That's what it sounds like to me if anyone can go to the P.O. See the new releases in the book and order around the 15th or 20th. If enough people do that than members like myself may not have a chance to buy because they could be sold out.

Not really canadapost has free shipping.The only thing I buy from the mint is 20 for 20 100 for 100 , because no dealers get a discount on them.

@Rg500s
Actually, CanadaPost aren't supposed to show you the catalog nor sell to you before the general release date.
Some show it to you anyway, others allow you to be put on a waiting list for coins only if you know which one you want (so they won't shoe you the catalog, but if you give the detail or the sku number it's all good).
The thing is, being on the waiting list won't give you the coin for sure... and you have to go physically.

Being MC member at the mint (Master Club member), you just can log one week prior to others and get free shipping. For coins like the murano like this frog, or the Farewell to the penny set by example, that goes sold out before general release, this is good for you.

Another pro of the MC member are the subscriptions... they aren't available nowhere else, and you still get free shipping on all coins.

Ok, the situation is:

-You get free shipping
-You can order before the general release
-You can order more coins (the same coin)than the general public
-You can get subscriptions that includes boxes, duck caller, etc (Canada Post doesn't offer this)
-The coins are being sold by their face value ($20x$20, $100x$100 and soon the $50x50) when in Canada Post or other dealers it cost like 25% more.

And if you become a "VIP" Master's Club Member you get a Representative that gives you like a direct customer service and can give you more coins than the usual limit.

Having said all that, it's not like WOW incredible.... but yeah, it has some advantages....

That's incorrect. Subscriptions are open to everyone at the Mint. They rarely sell out at the MC stage.

And with a rep you get to place your order the day before the coins go up on the website for the general MC population.

People described all.
I would say, it very nice and comfortable addition....but not "WOW" like Arianzo said.

In any way, would you prefer continuous PO or dealers runs? Probably, if you have plenty of time. With MC you just order prior the public online, and with the rep - even not bother to order, just drop a mail to him.

@arianzo Good summary!

It's more about the "free shipping" part of the subscription, which I guess could be included in the free shipping pro, but still when we compare individual coin ordering from CP or Mint, it's a bit different as you cannot have the box when ordering from CP.

What I want to know is.... How some find out way in advance it seams about some coins coming out from the mint. There is a $50 for $50 coin on ebay for sale right now. I log in as a RCM master's club member and it's not listed there.

Do you point to this one:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CANADA-POLA...em35d3662f0e

But it have no picture...
So everyone, being aware of this coin, can post a pre-sale.
Just do not forget later to order it.

Or did you see the listing with the picture?
