westernsky Pillar of the Community United States 7648 Posts	Posted 03/27/2014 9:15 pm It means the addressee (or alternate) was not available to sign for the item at delivery. If the carrier is not comfortable with the situation at the delivery location they will take the package back to the post office. Report this Post to the Staff

mailman28 Valued Member United States 416 Posts	Posted 04/01/2014 10:41 pm No authorized recipient is just the reason the carrier took it back to the post office. There is nothing special about it and nothing to be concerned over. Anything with a scan label that is not delivered has to have a reason entered in the scanner. Report this Post to the Staff
