I don't think I've seen this before, but may be more common than I think.

That's interesting because it looks like the green streak got on the paper before the green serial number got printed.

It could be, Buddy. I don't have the dollar with me right now, but I did set it aside. I mainly collect coins, but I do have a few notes stashed away (the usual suspects I suppose: silver certs, red ink $5/$2, etc.) but I really don't know currency, errors, or much of the history. I don't recall ever having a streaked note like this, but since it caught my eye, the hobbyist in me set it aside.

Is this a common error?

Looks like a different color of ink to me, it's more blueish-green. Turquoise sharpy perhaps?

It does. Using a 30X loop last night, it appeared to be the same. It was, however, the last thing I did before heading off to sleep. I'll give it a closer look when I get home, using some daylight, and post back. Thanks folks!

Well...up close the ink looks like a match. I think what's happening is that the color looks a bit different because it isn't as dense on the fabric.

Black ink is also on top of green ink streak.

Yeah...thinking a pen. I see one spot where the ink is on lifted fibers over the black seal. Must mean green ink came after black applied.

Too bad.

If I had found it, I would have reacted the same because the ink appears so similar. I don't know that it would have had much of a premium but I get a kick out of the oddities I find.

Oh well, the search continues....

Thanks for checking Buddy (others). I'm sure it's quite common for us collectors to have that reaction. A good number of us are already scanning the notes/change being counted out and handed to us by the cashier - always scanning...hoping. That works fine by me! Thanks again folks!
