Does anyone think that the special wrap rolls will appreciate in value in the short term (once they are sold out)? Or will they forever be worth approximate face value?

I think this applies to any specially wrapped rolls that would come from a mint or other offical organization. It really depends on the amount of coins minted, and also depends if the year in question may have any varieties or errors in the coin. Plus, if third party grading companies have a very limited amount of higher graded coins ( say limited MS66 and above), and these rolls come sealed from a mint or federal bank, then there is a slight chance they could be worth more over time.

I believe the 2014 was sold out after a few days. I don't think the rolls command much of a premium. Lots of people piece them out on ebay. If you can find a high grade one you'd do good.

I actually just grabbed a roll last week. I'm definitely not breaking it open, will be keeping the roll intact.

I'm a beginner collector (and realize now I definitely am interested as a hobby, not to sell in the future), so I can't be sure how much the rolls will be worth.

BUT, I have seen the rolls from last year selling for up to $40 at dealers. If they're selling it for that much already, I'm sure in about 10 years a roll can easily be sold for ~$40

Thanks, all. I usually don't buy wrapped rolls except for the last penny rolls. I resold them and did okay, but maybe should have held on a bit longer.

Yeah I know that coin crazy feeling. After picking up my first 50 cent roll a couple of weeks ago, I'm now obsessed with coin rolls.

Unfortunately I don't have a lot of money to spend on this right now, but it's super addictive.
