I think he means have the coin upright - in a horizontal plain in front of the camera.
People tend to like to see the coin upright so they can look at references and try to match up markers if any are available.
So lets say you want to shoot a close up of the date. Coop, I think, means to center the coin as best as possible and snap a pic of it upright.
Same thing with say the EPU motto on the back of the coin, try having that as upright as possible, so its easier to digest.
You can turn the pic in windows photo viewer, if you want, 90 degrees at a time. It probably can be done with most photo viewing software.
The front of that coin almost looks like simulated leather or a woodgrain ! HEY are you sure this ain't no stinking wooden penny ? < smirk>
