personally I have not been able to identify the differences in the reverse dies. I have looked at the photos, and I continue to see if I can determine the difference by looking at the coins in hand. so far I am not able to tell the difference.
i cannot offer an opinion about your reverse - but in any case I think it is a variety - not an error. (I'm sure others will be along - and correct me if I am wrong about the term)
That's the RDV-005, the normal reverse for 1988. I recently found an RDV-006; below is a close up of the designers initials. I roughly highlighted the border so you can see the general shape.
