Hi all,
I've seen several of the 20th Anniversary ASE 3 coin sets with the first year reverse proof coin on ebay and craigslist for any where ranging from 375-475. Here's my question...In an effort to help pay for my hobby, I'm wondering if its worth it to buy a set like this, send it off to be graded and then re-sell it or them separately in PCGS or NGC slabs. It seems to me that if you find one that would grade PF70 you could easily double if not triple your money. I realize that grading is an expensive venture, but to me if you can make money at doing something like this then it's a no brainer.

Thess sets all seem to have the coins in a box and in airtight capsules...below is one such deal. I know the pics are bad, but do you think something like this would go PF70. I've done some looking around and even at PF-69 you'd at least make money back, maybe a little more, and you'd have some what of an education on the TPG grading game.

You won't get PR-70.

I think only bulk submissions of 100 coins or more can get it.
Go with PCGS if you still want to try.

The odds aren't that great on a single submission. You'd be better off if you could get a couple sets together, but there's less risk with this one since the 69s are still valuable. If you can afford to sit on it for a while waiting for the grading and it to sell, it's worth a shot to see how it does as long as there's no visual imperfections on the set
