Got this in my change from lunch today. Rim is still high and the ridges are still present. The most smooth areas are in the same spot, front and back.

Thoughts?

I agree, struck with "grease" filled dies. They're not unheard of in the early years of the State Quarter program and if I remember right, this state turns up with this error from time to time.

Being that the coin has been in circulation, is there much value to grease strike coins in this condition?

Its good to keep in mind, that although a coin has circulated, does not mean its in circulated condition. It could have maintained original surfaces without acquiring any significant, noticeable wear that would cause it to grade below uncirculated. In addition, it is hard to determine the presence of wear on a filled die error because of the lack of details.

IMO, I don't think its being in circulation will affect the value of this piece.
