I have a 1923 Peace dollar that has an obvious crescent shaped die clash above the right wing..However there is not a die crack deposit on the wing....I've seen PCGS call some of these VAM'S a minor variety 1-0....Is the minor variety lacking the die crack? Is there a premium if it is graded as a minor variety?.....I am a little confused about how rare the coin is without the die crack....Thought I would ask some experts.....Thank you all!!
I don't see a die break, but a die clash. The spike is from the back of Liberty's neck. Coins on which this spike touches the lettering or is doubled have separate VAM listings, but they are considered minor and don't tend to carry premiums.
