Hi--I'm new here on this forum. I collect banknotes that have a face value of "2" (US$2.00, Canadian $2.00, 2 Marks, 2 Rubles, etc.). Does anyone know if anyone has compiled a checklist of the worlds "2" notes?

I posted a checklist of 1986 canada 2.oo and another 73 1.oo In dec I think....It also can be viewed at saskatoon coin club forum ...Yu sound like a person after my own heart..Please give us yu questions the one above is good,,, we lov pic's too.  ..Happy to hav a PaperMoney ant-man here....Stay with us here..  . I've found that some countries follow the same color schemes. Like Canada and Ukraine used brown for the $2 and blue for the $5. http://www.coinsandcanada.com/banknotes.phpClick on Bank of Canada for notes 1937-present. |

Years ago New York City cab riders would wrap a $2 bill around their finger when hailing a cab.
Must have been a good tip back then.

I went to the bank in China yesterday, and saw a 2 Jiao banknote, I asked for it but they wouldn't give it to me. Booo. Not sure why it was there, maybe some old people still try and use them.

augsburger, perhaps they are being withdrawn from circulation. As it's worth is only about 1/4 of a Euro cent I'm surprised they just didn't give it to you.

Actually they haven't been in circulation for a long time, however old currency can be found. The 1 jiao and 5 jiao exist in both banknotes and coins, but not the 2. When I asked for it the guy asked someone else who said no, I don't know why. Maybe because the Chinese govt wants to take them all in. Banks in China generally do as they're told.

As far as I know, the last time I was in China (which was 2011 I believe), 2 jiao notes are not being circulated much. As for why the teller would outright refuse to give it to you, I have no clue.
I still have a collection of 2 yuan and 2 jiao notes that are pretty uncirculated, but they're still in China :(
Also just recently got a couple of old series notes, 2 cent and 2 jiao ones from the 60's.
