Corroded Silver Cleaning - Coin Community Forum

liamlikessilver New Member United States 27 Posts	Posted 04/07/2014 7:09 pm I believe that I have found some really old silver coins, but they are really corroded. I think they are pre 1700-1800 Any tips on cleaning them or a way to check if they are silver? Will post pictures soon, do not have my camera right now. Report this Post to the Staff

If your coins are "really corroded", then it seems to me that they're highly unlikely to be made of silver. Not high-purity silver, anyway.
