Yes. San Francisco didn't start making clad proof Ikes until 1973, and they did not mint any clad business strikes. If you have any Ike with an "S" mintmark (proof OR unc) from 1971 or 72, then it must be silver. Any Unc. Ikes with an "S" mintmark from 1973, 74, or 76 must also be silver; those years, San Francisco made both clad and silver proofs, but only silver business strikes. So if you have any 1973, 74, or 76 "S" proofs, you will need to use other criteria to determine if they are silver.

I'm going to study type 2's all day today. I found a few nice peglegs

I have not studied to closely what "PEGLEGS" actually sell for on ebay.

I did see one seller *asking* $20. for RAW pegs.

My guess is, he will sell a few.

The best 2 peglegs that I have are progressive & "cut off at the knees" If I wanted to sell === It would be at a higher asking price.

Other wise, I am happy to have them in my collection.

I guess we are talking about my 2 best pegs?

Will try to get some PICs === problem for me is the "close-ups." I do not have a tripod for my 6-8 year Camera. Results on my close-ups are many frustrating BLURS. Will try

Mr. Click === You will never know how much I enjoy your 1st bag.

Thanks Domain555!!

I found out some sad news today. I called my bank and asked if she could look into ordering more. She called me back and told me that was the last and only one they had at Brinks(who they use). She asked if they could get more and they said "No". I guess that bag came from one of the banks in the area sending it back to brinks.

Looks like I'm going to have to go to some of my other banks and see what I can drum up.

I am still excited about getting home and finding my peglegs and 1976 type 1's and my 1972 type 2's.

Please stay calm.

I too am getting this same sort of off and on.

I was into to see her 2 days ago.

Politely keep going ahead. There is always another bag out there somewhere.

Maybe wait about 3-4 weeks and ask again. Just pretend it is a new day === and start over again.

My bank uses Brinks too. My banker says I might get mine next week.

I am in NE OKLA. Where are you?

Brinks will get them === as they become available.

One more thing.

Timing.

After you get your 2nd bag of MIGHTY Ikes=================

Wait about 3=4 weeks to ask for your 3rd bag.

Might try some FLOWERS (if your banker is a lady) That worked well for me one bag ago. Do this in about 3-4 weeks.

Oh my yes. I am starting to enlist my 94 year young Mother to ask her 50 year banker for Mighty Ikes.

More sourses and banks, means more IKES

I'm in the Tampa area. The lady at the bank loves me, so I know she is trying everything she can for me.

Update.... My son and I found (13) 1976d type 1 coins!!

I then went into my personal collection and found that my 1976 s 40% silver Ike was a Type 1 w/a pegleg!!

Also I noticed that all my type 1 1976's also have peglegs!!

here are some pics of the littleton wrapped silver ike and the one I just found in the 1000 Ike bag.

Wonderful

NOW YOU GOING

Took me months and months to get it. They are an intended pegleg. I THINK.Some peglegs are on purpose, some are die wear etc., & some are both. I THINK. It was very complicated for me. Been into Ikes about for about 700 hours.

STUDY STUDY STUDY === but mostly enjoy your MIGHTY Ikes

Take pride that you got 'em for a BUCK.

You are skillfully installed into the 1000 Ikes for $1,000 club.

Man, I'm on a roll. Just went through my personal Ike collection of about 140 Ike's and found 6 more 1976d Type 1's. I have about 200 1972p's to look through and see if I have any Type 2's. Busy night tonight
