Nothing seems to surprise me anymore on ebay.

So lets assume that these are truly the same coin.

A basement slabber DOWNGRADED an ANCS grade.

Was MS65, now MS64 PQ 90% white.

Maybe that "PQ" and 90% white designation will more than make up the difference in selling price between an MS64 and MS65.

PCI wasn't exactly a basement slabber but weren't very consistent.

Basebal has it, PCI is one of the top TPG's aside from the Big. I'd even compare them to ICG, good graders but inconsistent. I've bought a PCI coin before, only to have it upgrade at NGC. Still that person is stupid to resumbit to PCI when it was in an ANACS Holder. Will not sell for higher than a ANACS MS-65.

In 65 it's a $1300 coin, in 64 just $300.

On the advice of a fellow dealer.. I often look for undergraded PCI coins. If you keep an eye out for them, you can often find some really nice coins in PCI holders.

Fixed that. They were, in that generation of holder. Not since. The green-bordered holders using Futura type and a 10-digit serial are quite a bargain, and can be assumed to be graded accurately. I'll pretty much snag them on sight.
