Great looking collection and all PCGS. I'm actually working on an MS66 set and won't be paying attention to the steps. My reason is the same- a couple of the full-step date/MM combinations get pricey. The challenge I am having is that even at MS66, so many coins have uneven toning and spotting. I went into this hoping that at MS66, white examples without surface disturbances (aside from nicks) would be reasonably available.
ebay obviously is a great source of material, however the photos invariably don't tell the entire story. I have been emailing sellers regarding condition of their MS66 coins and frankly I've gotten many dismissive and curt answers. I may have to acquire examples live though I have only ever attended one coin show.
Am I being unrealistic in attempting a "white" MS66 set of the
War Nickels?
