Obviously this coin has never seen rough use, which, to me, means that it has been part of a collection or hoard for the extent of its history. The toning could be the result of long-term storage, I suppose. My biggest question, really, is the roughness of the obverse fields giving the surfaces a porous look in this photo. Overall, it's a very nice coin. What's going on immediately below Liberty's chin?
