Hi
I am new to coins and grading. I believe this coin has never been in circulation but I am told there are different number grades for varying degrees of 'never have been in circulation'?

Can someone help me grade this one? Thanks

Nice looking coin, I have a date set of these. This one is around EF, possibly AU but hard to tell because the bust is a weak strike (As is usual with Edwards no matter if it is India, Canada or anywhere else).

Coin shows a good amount of luster so there is a good chance it might hit the AU range, hard to say for sure without the coin in hand.

Yes, there are eleven different grades, MS-60 all the way through to MS-70 (could also be PR, PL or SP).

This one looks like it has wear, I think AU-53.

I don't see any wear and the surfaces look good, I'd give it UNC. I have posted coins that are obviously BU in hand here (fields are totally unmarked, blast-white silver, whatever) and the photos make them only look high AU - when you're unfamiliar with a coin series and you haven't seen many of them in all different grades it's hard to find the type of "characteristic" spots that American coins are graded by. With world coins I usually go by the surface and not the details, especially with the variable factors of strike and design - but it is very difficult to accurately photograph a coin's surface.

But has it been cleaned or not? I can't tell. The lines that catch the light should be evenly radiating from the center like the spokes on a bicycle wheel. If they are not in that regular formation then a fine wire-brush is most likely at fault and most of my previous guesses are invalid. Again, this is difficult to photograph and it's a judgment best made by you.
