Two varieties of 1802 Half Cents exist - the first and very scarce variety
Cohen-1 bears the so-called Reverse of 1800 with single leaves at top. 20 to 25 specimens of this rare coin are extant. It is a R-6 coin.

The second and much more plentiful Cohen-2 (R-3) bears the so called Second Reverse with double leaves at top on right wreath (see also Red Book P. 93).
My example is a C-2. Not in high grade (good 4 or good 6 imho), but noteworthy because struck on a clean and smooth light colored planchet. All 1802 Half Cents are overdates with the 2 struck over a 0.
This feature is still visible on this coin, although weakly.

For once my little camera was able to capture the true color of this copper coin!

Very nice Half Cent. Unusually nice surfaces for an 1802 since all (or almost all) of these were struck on cut down spoiled cents.

Very nice, indeed. It would be hard to find a more honest and wholesome good draped bust Half Cent in any date.

A wonderfully problem-free half-cent, hard to find for its age I'd imagine.
Impressive as always.
