Well jackpot for me at least, since I'm used to finding 1 or 2 silver coins at a time in boxes. Anyways, I haven't posted on this site in forever because unfortunately I stopped searching and collecting coins. Anyways, I never go inside banks anymore. I usually just deposit and withdraw from the outside ATM's. However today I felt like being social and walking in to speak with a teller. I haven't been in a bank in months. Well I saw a ton of silver in her tray and was like wow. I think it's a little over $17 FV. I asked her to buy it and she was real sweet. She said someone had JUST brought it in. Guess I got lucky. Anyways here is a picture and a list of my goodies: 90 % Half Dollars: 4 1963 d Franklin 1964 1964 d (x2) 40% Half Dollars: 17 1967 (x12) 1968 d (x4) 1969 d Quarters: 7 1941 1942 1953 s 1960 1964 1964 d (x2) Dimes: 46 1935 s Mercury 1948 s 1950 s 1952 1952 s (x2) 1956 (x2) 1956 d 1957 1957 d (x6) 1959 1959 d (x3) 1960 d 1961 d 1962 d (x5) 1963 d (x4) 1964 (x3) 1964 d (x12)

Amazing, for me that'd be a find of a lifetime, sadly after searching 124 rolls and finds 3 silver coins and one 1925 Nickel, I've given up on CRH'ing.

Roll searching isn't a get rich quick idea. I've searched a few hundred boxes and found that typically (after coin counters shorting me, time it takes searching, and gas), it's cheaper to buy silver than search for it. When I was searching it was for the enjoyment and rush of finding that silver edge in a roll. And also you never know what is in the box. Some guys find boxes loaded with silver. It's not likely but it is possible. Well I am now going to continue walking in banks now. No more outside ATM unless I'm in a rush!

I want to get back to roll searching though, haven't done it in maybe 1 to 2 years but it was fun. And I almost have a complete nickel set from searching, just missing the elusive 1950d.

Hey SD, I saw you posted and was like "Wow, he's still around on this forum, nice". Good to hear from you. Anyways, interesting that you just recently came back to post. Hope you are liking AZ, must be tough leaving San Diego!
I found the hoard in a Wells Fargo near College Ave. I think it's on El Cajon Blvd and 62nd. I go to school at SDSU so this Wells Fargo is real close.
You still collecting coins? I sold everything to pay for college :(

I dont think I know that bank, as I lived in Oceanside.
A few years back I sold all my silver/gold to get out of debt! about 3-4kk worth. and that went to settling the difference in a car I sold that I was underwater in. and a security deposit on a 2br apt. that was back sometime in 2012. SInce then, my son is now 2 1/2 and we have a baby girl, now 7months. Life has been busy to say the least. On top of that, I got a new job in AZ. We moved january 1st to tucson and so far its great. Its only recently that I have even thought about coins. I was cleaning things out from the boxes after the move and thought about going to the banks to start back up CRHing. but, the thought of all the work involved going from bank to bank and having the funds to search enough werent there. Plus like you were saying, might as well buy silver than spend the time looking and only finding 2-4 coins in months. I literally told me wife the same words.
anyway, good luck with college and if I were you, I would keep looking. since your not married and no kids I presume, then take full advantage of the time and $$ you have.

Awww wow, I remember when your first child was just being born. Crazy to think he is 2 1/2 now and you have another on the way. Well it seems like life is going in a good direction for you now so that is good to hear. Like you, coins kind of got in the way of my life. I spent too much time searching coins and looking at coins online. I decided school and other things were more important for now. But maybe in the future i'll collect, I still love coins!
I have no kids but I do have a lot on my plate, so CRH isn't in my game plan right now. And I am married, almost 4 years now! Time flies. Maybe i'll get 1 box here or there just to bring back memories.

That is an incredible find. That reminds me of the day I walked into my local bank about 4 years ago and the teller told me she had something special and asked if I wanted them. Someone had just turned in a dozen or so Barber half dollars. They were well circulated, but I happily paid face value for them and they are still in my collection. Up to that time, I had only one Barber half and paid handsomely for it, so they are nice to look at from time to time.
