I have it listed on ebay. Someone sent me a message and said that it's not genuine and has been altered. I sent them a message back and asked them to elaborate, but in the mean time I thought I'd ask here so I can take the proper action as soon as possible. Thanks Ed. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...ht_260wt_900

at a glance, the rims don't look right to me, and the devices/lettering seems a bit too well-defined for a 1922.

The two's don't look right to me. Generally, one or the other is soft depending on which of the 4 die pairs. That coin is a no go for me if I was looking. nlp

The guy that messaged me on ebay, said the middle 2 looks altered. Now that I look at it, it does look altered. Not sure what it could have been, but the base of the 2 looks odd where the verticle leg of the 2 comes down and attaches to it.

Sometimes a few bucks is worth just getting it in your hand...even tho its likely fake from what your stating.

I ended the listing and emailed all the bidders with an explaination and an apology. Thanks for the feedback.

You might want to send it to PCGS or NGC. If it comes back as a fake, so be it. If it comes back graded, you will have added a lot of money to that coin. may well, well be worth a try.

You are correct. Somebody did something to it. A pretty good job, just to be devil's advocate. But like you say, not hard to figure out...no die characteristics of the 1922's.

At the very least it's not a die pair 2.

At best I thought it might be a Die Pair 1 because I thought I could see a piece of the die crack that terminates at the "O" in ONE but there are too many other problems. Take a close look at the 19"2"2..the middle 2. The bottom of it doesn't look right. My biggest mystery about the whole thing, is what date was the coin originally? It looks like a legit. Lincoln Cent, but I don't think it started out as a 1922. Good thing I didn't pay much for it.
