Does anyone know why the I is so often missing at least one of its serifs? it seems to be mostly the top but occasionally the lower left. some of them look like the top of the I has been cut off. It seems to me at least half or more have this issue. Just a weak spot in the design?

Even in the Proof 64 Kennedy the lower left serif is almost gone. It's one of the diagnostics of the "accented Hair" variety. You'd think the proof dies wouldn't have this problem.

the one that gets me is the 3rd pic, the entire top of the I is gone. I don't see it as a filled die, but what is it?

When a coin is pressed, the direction of flow is from the edges to the center because those details stand out most.

Might be minor undocumented die varieties? I've noticed that '71/72 halves have examples where the entire date is crisp and sharp, and examples where the date fades into the field near the bottom. Never seen any mention of those varieties online, but they are very real and easy to find examples of. Collectors love to focus on "rockstar" varieties (WAM/CAM, small/large date, DDO etc) while others simply go unnoticed. This could be one such example.

What dates are these from? Looks like mostly 71-79?

I had a pile I was going thru, and just grabbed 4. They have been mixed back in to the pile before going back to the bank
