Hi Guys and Gals.

I found this well worn coin whilst clearing out the loft, and cannot seem to identify it, I suspect it is from Latvia as that is where the church is but after a lot of searching am none the wiser

Welcome!
Appears to be a commemorative of the Latvian city of Valmiera. The obverse is a reproduction of the medieval Hanseatic civic arms of Valmiera (reads: S(igillum) CIVITATIS DE WOLDEMAR).
The reverse depicts the Church of Saint Simianis, as old as the city itself.

Brilliant guys, interesting stuff, I found the Church but could not find the coat of arms.

So it is not currency but a commemorative, lord knows how I ever came across it>?

Thanks Again
