Interested in grade opinions, but more importantly for me...is this toning genuine or is it artificial? If its the latter how can artificial toning be detected? I have my ideas...but wanted some opinions.

That is definitely artificial toning, but I kind of like the look of it on your coin.

I can't accurately put a grade on this coin, because that toning could be hiding wear; however I would say it would most likely make MS.

Here is an ebay guide that will hopefully answer your questions on artificial toning.

UCK! AT all the way, unfortunately. Can't tell you how to detect it, but over time you will get an eye for it.

I can't speak for the AT because I'm so new to telling the difference but is Washington about to kiss a die clash there in front of his lips?

Nope, not a die clash just a bagmark from the edge of a mother coin.

why does your title say 1962 Washington toner? It's a 1972 Jefferson..

I thought I was crazy for seeing that and noticing that no one commented on it.

I see a Jefferson too. And I don't sense any sarcasm in the original post so probably wrong image.

You have to give different names to pictures you upload otherwise the new one will overwrite the old one.
