I was inspecting my nice newly arrived 4, 2013 Limited Edition Silver Proof Sets that have the Eagle, KHD, all 5 ATB's, and Roosie...nice sets, well made...I did notice the front of the set, with obverse of coins, except ATB's, where they place the reverses, were all pretty much perfect coins, with beautiful mirrors...on the flip side, I noticed roughness on mirrors...I peeled back the thin protective film to shoot, and still thought something was wrong..surely I had discovered a new "matte special proof satin finish", and, would make all the Coin News Headlines, and, get my own RedBook listing in 2016!
Hmmmmmmm..slow down...THINK....let's look further....whatever sheet of plastic on back just isn't as crystal clear as on the front, creating a blistered, wavy look where mirrors are....oh well...someday I'll make those headlines!(at least I'm not reporting one with a "missing mintmark"...aka: baseball gold)...
