I am thinking about starting to give my nephews each new issue from the ATB series. From a collectors perspective is their any difference in value whether they are in the original capsule or an air-tite aftermarket capsule?

Original packaging is always worth more.

Since you mention original capsule, you must be talking about the collectors version issued by the mint. Just curious why you would consider ditching the original packaging and capsule? I would keep it together. Some people scoff at the idea that packaging matters, but I agree with zxcccxz.

I also keep all my receipts, May not matter right now but 20 years down the road should add a nice premium

I as well get them as gifts. A good choice especially since the cost has almost been halved since they first came out. Something with good intrinsic value as well as collector value.
