My shipments always go by smartpost. Is that because I have a PO box or do all orders ship that way?

My first purchase from the mint for my 2013 Silver Eagle RP / EU sets went by UPS signature required. I had to argue with UPS for 25 minutes and then had to escalate 4 levels before I could speak to someone from the US because they wouldn't let me pick them up at the terminal even with a photo ID showing the delivery address and they still wouldn't let me pick them up.

UPS is jacked up and the Mint is jacked up. I thought UPS was Union but I guess they cut corners on the phone support outsourcing side to pocket more money.

I just got shipment notification for a recent order and it is coming Fed Ex Smart Post AKA 10 day service since we also use this method at work and I know how it takes them 3 days to even get it out of the originating terminal.

Correct...Smartpost is FedEx from shipper to the US Post Office with final delivery by the USPS

...and re: picking up a UPS sig required Mint package. This is a choice made by the Mint. It has zip to do with UPS. If you look at tracking in UPS "My Choice" you will see that pick up at UPS facility is "denied".

Interesting...you would be the only one getting ALL your shipments that way...unless you pay for expedited shipping

ALL purchases under $300 are shipped Smartpost to the rest of the collectors in the USA

I just received a package from the mint earlier today. It was USPS 2nd day air signature required.

That is how I receive my orders when I make them. Most times, the order can total $300 or more but ships most often as individual items less than 300. Maybe they base the shipping method on the total even though not shipped together. I can't recall even 1 time I didn't have to sign. I really don't buy all that much though.

Yes they do base how they ship on the total order. Individual items will all be shipped expedited even though they singularly cost way less than $300

...and I commented on the USPS 2nd day Air Sig required because there is no such animal..that would be UPS not USPS

USPS has First Class, Priority, Express..no 2nd day air as a shipping classification

SmartPost is a FedEX/USPS combo (no sig) delivered by USPS for orders under $300

Also, as an aside, it seems no bag with the subscriptions.
