Hello everyone,

I'm new here and I have a petition which demands that the US Mint improve their gold coin lineup given the Treasury Secretary's "broad authority" to mint and issue gold coins. This petition calls on the US Mint to reissue classic coin designs.

This petition also calls on the US Mint to issue a 1/20th ounce American Gold Eagle which would make the American Gold Eagle program more affordable and accessible to all. If Canada has a 1/20th ounce Gold Maple Leaf, then why can't the US Mint have a 1/20th ounce American Gold Eagle.

Please sign the petition today at: http://www.gopetition.com/petitions...-lineup.html

Thank you for your support!

P.S. This petition also calls on the US Mint to submit some of the numismatic gold coins produced to NGC and PCGS directly and to sell some of these coins based on the grades assigned.

IMO, that is an absolutely horrible idea and a complete dealbreaker on signing that petition Besides that, the TreasSec does not have the authority to create new coin programs willy-nilly, that power lies with Congress.

with bio on all points!

Not to mention Canada did away with the cent ... And we didn't follow suit... So why would we expect they will with a 1/20'th? Or anything else? I don't believe any changes will happen whatsoever in quite a while... Even if half of the population of the country signs a patition... Though there's some changes I wouldn't mind... But again a moot point

Well the Treasury Secretary does have the broad authority to mint and issue gold coins according to this:

http://mintnewsblog.com/2012/03/us-...y-for-coins/

Also not all coins would be sent to NGC and PCGS by the mint. Only some of the coins, such as the first strikes this way people could know which coins actually were first strikes.

Here's what we did:

We have a petition to get the US Mint to reissue classic coin designs as a part of its product lineup. Please sign today:
http://www.gopetition.com/petitions...-lineup.html

We also have a petition to demand that the US Mint issue a 1/20th oz American Gold Eagle similar to what's being done in other countries. Please sign today:
http://www.gopetition.com/petitions...n-eagle.html

We also have a petition which calls the US Mint to directly submit coins to NGC and PCGS: http://www.gopetition.com/petitions...nd-pcgs.html

These are the same petitions posted yesterday. We just split the petitions up because some agreed with only portions of the petition posted. Sorry for the double posts.

Your support is greatly appreciated!
