The Basic Stuff
You are going to notice that member to member emails are a little different. We had to make a change to satisfy some of the major email providers. So far AOL and Yahoo that we know of so far.
All of the member emails you receive will now be "from" forums@ just like subscription emails instead of the email address of the member that sent it. The member name will still be included in the body of the email. When you hit "reply" it will still go directly to the member that sent it though just like it always has.
The Technical Stuff for Those of You With Your Own Sites Or Inquiring Minds
Here's what is happening. If these providers receive an email with a "from" email domain of Yahoo, but the actual email is not from a Yahoo server, they are bouncing the email. Interchange "Yahoo" with any domain you like. So far we know Yahoo and AOL are doing this for sure. Most will likely follow if they haven't started already.
So we made the "from" the forums@ email so that it matches the server it came from, and added the "reply-to" field with the email of the sending member so you can reply to them.

reference to tv show character Erkle back on topic: I like the change. Hopefully, this will mean when I send a note to a user, it won't get stuck in their junk mail folder

This sounds like more of a procedural change than one of substance. Thanks for the warning as it might prove confusing at first. Will someone send me a 'test' email so that I may examine it? I'll do the same as well. Thank you.

I added a note to the body of the email that says you may reply directly to the member to help avoid confusion. Some may have seen the from address and thought they couldn't reply.

I just sent a note to myself. I like the new format. There were a couple of times in the past that members e-mailed me and I almost deleted their e-mails since I did not recognize the e-mail address.
Hey John1: I just sent a note to myself...that happens quite a bit!
