I posted this coin the the Days of IHC, and in doing so I noticed doubling in the feather area. Especially the bottom 6 feathers. Is there a known 1883 variation with this feature? My weak attempt to check on the internet came up with nothing. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, John

I suspect it's die wear--metal flowing outward deteriorated the feather tips.
But, yours is the S-4 with the defective digit punch (the 3).
