I'm just curious what you guys do with yours. I recently cracked open SMS's, mint sets, and souvenier sets 1965-2013 and have a variety of the tokens. Many copper, and the variety of plastic ones.

They're not really worth anything, but I can't force myself to throw them out. Right now I just have mine sitting in their mint set cello's. I was thinking about 2x2 holders, but I'm not sure I even want to spend the time on it.

One listing for the whole lot might get you some spending money ... but probably not much.

Yah I saw a completed ebay auction for about $3.50 for 70 tokens. Those were only the plastic kind. I probably have about 7-10 plastic and about 20 copper. Probably not worth it. I'm primarily looking at them for collector value (obviously very little) for my next generation to have.

I collect these and they've already paid off. ;)

I was going through a bunch of mint and proof set packages to remove anything collectible and found a really nice Australian wooden box for a proof gold set. A large broze plaque was ewmbedded in it along with what looked like a gold foil seal. In digging them out the "foil" turned out to be a solid 10K gold "medal".

The problem with the tokens is they aren't going to be tough to acquire for a century or more. There are so many of them and more sets are cut up every year. I doubt they'll ever be very popular collectibles because because most will be either distressingly common or rare.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

The only one I've kept was a single Blue Ike token that I put in my Eisenhower Dansco.

The small copper tokens can be used to plug empty holes in a Lincoln album

The small copper tokens can also be thrown into a coinstar machine where they will be counted as one cent pieces.

I bet that is how I got one of those Dept of Treasury things that looks like a penny from a roll one time. If they are the size of a penny, the same composition, but are not actually a penny? then they would be legal to sell for melt value? IF you sell them make sure to get at least melt value if that is the case!
