Indo-Scythiansazes-II

I think this is a Indo-Scythian AR Drachm of Azes II. Although from what I am reading, Azes I and Azes the second my be the same king.

Thanks to Anoob I recently became interested in this coin type. I have a tetradrachm of Azes II. I still need to learn how to ID the differences between I & II and the few others that issued this type. A good reference source is Coins India. Very nice coin.

You can find Alexander Cunningham's book on Indo-Greek coinage fairly inexpensively (Coins of Alexander's Successors in the East, it covers Indo-Greek and Indo-Scythic). It's been superceded by Boperachchi's(sp?)book which is very expensive. Mitchiner is used by some, not me. The Lahore Museum Catalog (no plates) is fairly accurate for these types. Legends are written out pretty clearly, very useful.

Lahore Catalog can be found here as a free google e-book.
