Hello,

I'll be sending in some Morgans during the next few days for help in identifying the correct VAM #.

I am still learning this area and am finding that my ability still lacks the skills to efficiently name the correct VAM most of the time.

Please also state the grade.

Thanks in advance.

Here's the reverse:

By the way I am not using my USB camera on these shiny Morgans.

Constructive criticism on my photos is also welcomed.

Thanks,

Decent strike for an '84-O. I would think this would go MS64ish based on the photos. As far as the VAM number, I see this as a far date position which narrows the possibilities down to about half of the listings. We'll need to see a good close-up of the mint mark for starters to try and identify it.

as for the lighting, diffuse it, put some sort of cloth between the light and the camera.

Personally I would like to see a picture of the coin without a lot of luster if thats possible.

Another thing - if your asking for assistance on VAM's with pics, I would find a place that will allow you to upload pics and use that service
then your able to post a pic thats larger thatm 100KB here, and it will allow for pics of about 750x750 or 1,000x1,000 pixels.

The larger and clearer the pics, the better off the people who are willing to help will give better responses.

First and foremost - go to http://www.vamworld.com, and look around there.
There is an easy link which can teach you how to attrubute your own coins. No worries, many are here to help you along at any stage, but this site is really cool.

This particular area is best, it allows you to look by date and mint mark, and is less confusing.

Here's the MM shot:

By the way I usually display two photo types of any coin: one with diffusion and another using axial lighting to accentuate any dings and presence of luster.

Also the size of this MM photo taken with my USB camera is 706 x 566 @ 96KB file size.

I will have to get to the diffusion photo when I have more time.

Thanks,

mdpmedia

It doesn't appear to be an O/O variety so at this point I have it as a far date with an oval O mint mark centered and upright. It's all about small pups at this point. Check for doubled date digits and any doubling on the ear.
