The Royal Mint has updated its mintage figures and they make interesting reading ! The number of 2 pence coins minted is quite low in relative terms especially for 2013 .....probably why I have only come across one 2013 2p , all this does make me wonder about 2p`s â€" have people been emptying out their change boxes to cause the massive reduction in pennies and 2 pence`s minted (especially the 2p`s) ?

The number of 10p coins and £2 for 2012 is also quite low and so are the £2 commemoratives which now seem to be minted in sub -million quantities...... any thoughts ?

(I can never find them when I need them)

320,200,750 10p coins!
They must've pulled so many cupronickels !!

Glad they updated the Handover figures... When it was sat at 65k I was kicking myself for not saving more... but saw a higher figure somewhere and hoped

No idea at all....did you also notice that the mintage figure for the Charles Dickens £2 from 2012 still has not be listed.
