These two pennies look like the mint continued on off the end of the strip of metal. The 1961 penny has additional damage on/under the "Liberty" so I was wondering if these are minting issues or later damage.

They both look like PMD.

The first appears damaged. The second has a ragged clip, but I'm not sure about Liberty, possibly struck through or damage?

What about a defective planchet on the second one 1961? Looks like it could be to me.

Yeah, after looking at some examples I think the 61 has a defective planchet.
