Yep ... from another thread ... Ike was face down on Omaha beach ... A tank did run over his left EAR ..

What is it ... with the TPG - MS64 Ike stuff?

Makes one just want to buy-save-collect RAW coins?

Once again proving the wisdom of the dictum, "buy the coin, not the holder."

This is one thing I've never understood about TPG grading. Bag damage is a common for an uncirculated coin and it still gets graded. However, if a circulated coin has rim damage or a scratch, which is common for circulated coins, it gets a details grade.

Due to thee nature of the marks, I'd probably have called that one circulated had you posted it for grade.

At the risk of alienating my traditionalist brethren CCF here ... It seems about 90% of the money flows directly to the TPGers, rather than to the owners of the coin(s) if, (when) the collector wants to sell.

IMHO ... the focus should be on the TPGer ... not the merchant tring to sell his wears.

Hello guys,
I work for Gary and as soon as I brought this to his attention he wanted it taken down. We have a lot of coins come through the office and on a rare occasion a dog like this gets into our inventory. We try to only represent good coins for their grade but in this case it was definitely an error on our part.

Thank you guys for finding our inventory on ebay and bringing this to my attention, wish it were under better circumstances.

It was pleasant visiting with you this last few moments.

I am sure you have many fine coins in your inventory. Chance, do you sell ERROR Ikes?

You are a gentleman, and you are striving to earn the respect and business from coin collectors!

Hello again Domain555,

We don't do a whole lot with Ike dollars only because their fairly inexpensive so it takes a lot of volume to support a business and we're not really set up to handle it. We currently have 756 coins listed for a combined value of $812,000 so our average coin is a little more than what you'd call inexpensive. If you like error Ike's I'm pretty positive we could find all you want but at the moment we don't have any in our stock and I cant say I've seen one for a good while.

Thank you for your kind words, hope I/we get the opportunity to serve you in the future.

I never even looked to see who was selling that coin; had I, I'd have mentioned how totally out of character it was for you guys. Have no fears, Chance - Gary Adkins gets recommended without reservation around here and this one coin isn't going to change that.
