So getting change back spending a roll of halves decide to try some scratch off tickets and get the $1 bills to put in the machine and notice this one and put it back in my pocket.

Series 2006
E 00610112 E

Rarely do anything with bills except keep $2 and silver certificates if I come across any. Never seen a * note before either. Have an old $20 that doesn't look like Monopoly money either. So thought if this is a low serial number I might as well keep it jsut to say I have one.

What are the criteria for keeping bills other than personal preference, and what makes it considered a low serial number?

Apologies in advance if this gets responses and I fail to return for a while because I live in the coin section here and forget there is a bill section half the time.

I think most people consider it a low serial # if it starts with 000 or 0000. Might as well keep it however, and keep "upgrading" when you find lower #'s

I would have been happier and not even bothered to ask anything about it starting with 00, it they were followed by a 7, then I would put it up as a "Bond" note. This one I might have to get a copy of Goldeneye and put it in the DVD case thing. Thanks for the quick reply, was jsut surprises to see a single 0 at the front of the SN as that is a first for me.

I believe serial numbers are NOT considered low unless the number is LESS THAN 1000.
