I thought the UK did up until the recent re-design.

I always loved the depiction of Helvetia on the Swiss coins. Their designs are classical with a lot of charm and elegance.

Circulation coins these days tend to be rather plain and mundane, compared to centuries past. They need a design that is still readable and recognizable when being churned out of a high-speed press; aesthetics tends to take a back seat to utilitarianism. The circulation coins of Singapore have been rather plain of late, but their newest series introduced last year looks much more interesting. I haven't seen any of the new coins in hand, but just judging off the artwork I'd have to vote for them.

I have seen some Swiss gold that really stuck out to me. Reminds me of the classic era of U.S. coins.

I like the designs on Australian decimal coins. I do have kind of a bias to things with cute animals on them though. The $2 doesn't have an animal on it, but I still think it's pretty neat to have an aboriginal on your currency.

U.S. has had the most aesthetic coins in the past, but our current designs are decades old and plenty boring.
Err... U.K?

Singapore's latest series is really impressive. Some countries have real standouts but the rest is lacking: most of Russia's coins are kind of plain, but the new 10-ruble coin has a great modern design. Turkey's small change is also a bit plain, but the bimetallic coins are awesome. Actually, the overall winner for me is Armenia! I like the simple and effective geometric patterns on their 2003 series, and the commemoratives are stunning. Azerbaijan is also quite up there, with some great modern designs from 2006 on. I have to say, the current low-denomination coins of the UK are quite boring - but I like the commemoratives and I eagerly await the new pound coin.

The European Union Countries with Euros have the most attractive circulating coins in my opinion now.

I agree with nalaberong here - the Armenian coins are great! The geometric series are already beautiful (especially in higher grades, when the ridged areas play into the light), and that's before we get to the commemoratives (I'm lucky enough to have one).
Fun fact: these commemoratives? Mintage only 60,000 each - but hardly any value (maybe $3 if you're lucky). That coin would probably take the place of the 1962 Vatican commem (200,000 mintage) in my rants about how beautiful coins with ridiculously small mintage can have next to no value anyway.

As a world coins collector I always appreciate the effort of countries to show their values on a little piece of metal. and maybe for this reason I love coins about local cultures more than coins showing bridges buildings or oil facilities.

Well, I suppose it depends on your definition of "in circulation," but I'm a big fan of this Mexican "coin" I recently picked up:

My vote is for Thailand, all of them have such beautiful temples on them. The 10 baht coin is especially lovely. South Africa, with its flowers and animals are also lovely, although I do love Isle of Man coins as well.

I have to go with Switzerland. Gotta love that classic design. Unchanged for almost 150 years!
