Well, 4 or 5 days ago I sold a lot of fishing reels. I scrolled down and saw dashes on shipping cost, so I clicked on the buyers name and it said he was based in Malaysia. I sent him a message and gave him the shipping cost for Malaysia which is $70. Some of you guys may remember that I had a question a while back about shipping these same reels to Malaysia. It is not the same buyer. Anyway, I told them if they wanted to cancel the transaction since shipping is so high, I had no problem with that, just let me here something back please. A few days went by and I told them if I didn't hear anything back, I would have to open an unpaid item case.

Then I got a message that said "shipping to us please". I said that if they wanted to ship somewhere in the US, then it would be the same price in the listing of $11.30. I then said if they wanted to do this, send me a message back and I would update their invoice. A few days went by and I didn't hear anything, so I gave them a few messages and then sent them a last chance message and told them if I didn't get a message or anything back, then I would open a case at 5:00 us central time. 5:00 came and went. I opened a case at 7:00 that night. This morning I got a message. They said that I shouldn't have opened the case without giving them proper shipping price etc.

This is really annoying to me, because I had to cover myself so that I wasn't out $50+ shipping to Malaysia. I sent them an updated message and they are supposed to pay. I hope everything works out with this one. I just am really getting tired of dealing with these people. I haven't had any issues with Canada that I can think of, but even though I unselect all of the foreign shipping locations, someone foreign always seems to buy it. This is really getting annoying, and I had better not get bad feedback over it.

You're within your rights to refuse to sell at all to a bidder from a country you don't list as a shipping destination. Why don't you just block those bidders? I do it on all of my auctions. Indonesia is on my list of "not now, not ever" destinations.

Well, I thought I had all of them blocked, but for some reason, people keep buying them. I don't know if it changes them when I relist or what. For some reason every time I list I have to go through and select them all. They don't save.

Update. The guy just paid, so I'll ship it out tomorrow. This had better not affect my feedback.

Fascinating. Didn't know that. Is it just me, or has ebay pretty much completely messed up their interface in the last couple of years?

I think they have messed up a lot. I don't know for sure that they reset on the relisting, but I know I have got to reset them every time I list something.

But if his shipping address is in Malasya you shouldn't ship to US.

And about the other point, up to I know I can buy even when my country is blocked just using the "ebay.com" site , the only stuff is that it doesn't show me the shipping cost.

Okay, I knew there was a way around it. It is really odd. It says he is based in Malaysia, but when I went to print the label it gave me a US address. We'll see how this one goes. I haven't had a problem that I remember shipping to Canada-except for the stupid global shipping program, and the buyer was very easy to deal with to help me fix that. However, every time someone buys something from somewhere other than Canada, it is always a huge issue.

Did they pay via Paypal, and if so, what did Paypal say about the address?

If you went to print the label and it gave you the US address means that he has more than 1 registered address so it's all right.

Yeah, that is what it did. I wasn't going to do it if he just gave me an address in the message.
