As the post I linked to showed the 'tokens' had different things for both sides.

same thing for both sides means less ware on it.

if you read the thread I posted, you will see it says the tokens have different things on eartheir side.

Could possibly be an old family heirloom. Maybe a crest and this coin/medal was specially made. Could be a one of a kind.

There doesn't really need to be a reason. It could just be a keepsake to pass on down the line.
