Are you sure it's even a coin? If it's identical on both sides, that would mean there is no date anywhere, correct?

Be patient. And do post the other side of this piece for a better evaluation. About all I can say is that this side does not present any evidence - date, denomination, country - that this is a coin.
Rest in Peace

The color makes it look like gold? Can you weight it? Also give us the size and thickness.
Hang in and hopefully a member will chime in. It may take some time. This is a weekend and not like business as usual.

It's a square token of some kind with an SK or KS monogram, but with no date, denomination or other marking, tracking down any kind of information on it will be hard. Date unknown and unknowable, except that elaborate monograms like this were popular from the 1800s up to the 1920s. Even the country of origin could be just about anywhere. All I can say is that, since the Greek alphabet does not have a letter shaped like "S" in it, it is probably not from Greece.

Where did it come from? Any kind of context might help narrow down the search.

can you tell us the circumstances of how and where you came to acquire the piece?

Might give a better starting place.

You might want to take it to a place to get it tested to see it's made of as well. That could add something.

EDIT: Also, are there any other markers on the edges?
Weight? Dimension's?

Anything else that could help?

It was bought out of a pile of coins in the old part of the city of athenw , the person had no idea how it got there , And to tell you the truth it could be from any patr of europe.
At some point I thought it might be a button of some sort but even a sleeve cuffling but the image ingraved is on booth sides .
Iwill test the Metal to see what it is.

THANKS for everyones help. The funny thing is you see here coins with almost nothing on them and can be identified

Iwill keep looking .

Since no one else has mentioned it I'll toss in the way out idea that it might be a signet for sealing wax.

It doesn't seem like it has any connection points, but here is another head scratcher topic... https://goccf.com/t/167455

Those are round but it's the best idea I have.

"unidentifiable coins" - https://goccf.com/t/170993 Those took us less than 20 hours, it's the ALMOST in front of "nothing" that makes it possible
